Knife-wielding man 'punches a female off-duty police officer during a vicious road rage attack'

- The 31-year-old Mazda driver got out of his vehicle and walked towards the car
- He allegedly assaulted a man and an off-duty police woman by punching them
- He was granted bail to appear in Port Adelaide Magistrates Court on May 20
A man has allegedly punched a man and an off-duty officer while armed with a knife during a vicious road rage incident.
Police were called to Heley Beach Rd, Brooklyn Park in Adelaide's inner west about 11am on Sunday following reports a Mazda sedan had stopped in front of a Mitsubishi 4WD, blocking its path.
The 31-year-old accused got out of the vehicle and began walking toward the other car when he was approached by a man and a woman.

The accused was searched by police and was allegedly found with a knife in his possession (stock)
Police allege he assaulted the pair by punching them, before being restrained by several members of the public.
The woman - an off-duty police officer - and the man suffered minor injuries.
The alleged perpetrator has been charged with two counts of aggravated assault and carry offensive weapon after a knife was found in his possession.
He was granted bail and will appear in Port Adelaide Magistrates Court on May 20.
