Actor Rucha Inamdar made her Marathi film debut opposite Swapnil Joshi in Bhikari (2017). Though a newcomer in the regional film industry, Rucha has films such as Children Of War (2014) and Under The Same Sun (2015) to her credit. Rucha will now be seen opposite Shivraj Waichal in Dr Saleel Kulkarni’s debut directorial Wedding Cha Shinema.

The actor shares that after her debut, she was offered seven to eight films, but all of them had more or less similar characters. She refused to take them as she is keen on doing different roles. “My priority is to do good work where I enjoy the process. I don’t want to do films for the sake of it. I am ready to wait it out. I have learnt that things do not always turn out the way you expect them to. So, you have to be patient and continue with your hard work,” says Rucha.

In Wedding Cha Shinema, actor Mukta Barve plays the protagonist. Rucha feels fortunate and lucky to have had the chance to work with established and amazing talents so far. “She is a sweetheart to work with. I got along with her on many levels. I believe it was our cultural and literary quotient that helped us gel. We had a lot to share and talk. She is an extremely secure actor and that helps to make work easy and smooth on sets. She works for the product to do well and not for individual gains,” she says.

On working with Dr Saleel, she adds that it was surprising to see his vision and process, even though it was his directorial debut . “Saleel sir was sorted and clear about everything. He was very calm and composed throughout the shoot. He gave us our space and liberty with the characters, but was sharp enough to hold us back at the right time too,” Inamdar concludes.
