On Day 1: Metro averages 176 passengers per trip

AHMEDABAD: On the first day of its commercial operations, 2,650 passengers rode the Ahmedabad metro, on the 6.5km operational stretch from Vastral Gam to Apparel Park.
The authorities plan to open two stations on this stretch, Amraiwadi and Nirant Crossroads, by the end of this month and two station more by the end of April.
Authorities said the escalators for these station have arrived and will soon be installed. They said that due to a delay in transportation of this equipment, they were forced to inaugurate the service before these stations could get escalators.
Officials said the free run of the metro on the 6.5km stretch began on March 6. Metro officials say a total of 75,917 passengers have ridden the metro so far. During its commercial run as well, the train will run between 11am and 5pm and will be available every 25 minutes. The first train every day will leave Vastral Gam at 11am and the same rake will leave Apparel Park at 11.25am.
On the first day of its commercial run, the train made a total of 15 trips, including both up and down, with an average of 176 passengers per trip.
