Robber who drugged his targets arrested
TNN | Mar 17, 2019, 04:00 ISTRajkot: A robber who specialized in rendering his victims unconscious before robbing them of their valuables was arrested through a transfer warrant from Barmer district jail by Mangrol marine police station in Junagadh.
“After receiving the transfer warrant from a court here, we went to the Barmer district jail in Rajasthan and arrested Haji Hasan Sama, a resident of Surendranagar,” said N G Parmar, inspector with Mangrol marine police station who had led his team to Barmer to secure Sama’s arrest.
Sama had allegedly robbed Dinesh Chudasama, a resident of Chorwad, of Rs 14,000 cash, gold ring, gold bracelet and gold chain after rendering him unconscious after making him consume a soft drink laced with sedatives.
He had also robbed Krunal Shir, a resident of Keshod, of his gold chain, worth Rs 35,000, employing the similar modus operandi.
After both the victims lodged a complaint against him, Sama, who was unidentified, was spotted in different CCTV footages near the crime spots by the investigating officials. After his identity was ascertained, it was found that Sama had already been incarcerated in Barmer district jail in a similar offence.
