The Delhi government’s publicity division, the Directorate of Information and Publicity (DIP), has directed various departments to remove advertisements funded by the government after the model code of conduct came into effect on March 10.
The DIP has also directed the departments to form teams to inspect their premises and remove any such advertisements while asking them to maintain strict vigil in this regard.
Heads of all departments have been directed by the DIP to ensure that such advertisements are not displayed or aired. The imposition of model code of conduct mandates that no advertisement can be displayed in any newspaper, magazine or outdoor media and aired or broadcast on radio and television channel at government expenses.
