CPM candidate seeks re-investigation into the suicide cases

COIMBATORE: Former MP PR Natrajan, CPM candidate for Coimbatore constituency demanded reinvestigation in suicide cases that has taken place in and around Pollachi over 7 years and serious action should be taken against those who involved in the sexual harassment case.
Speaking to the news persons on Saturday, Natrajan said, “AIADMK party has been ruling the state for the second consequent term and the serial sexual assault has been taking place for the past seven years. So the AIADMK regional satraps should be held responsible for the incident and no matter what position they hold, action should be taken against all those involved in the case.”
Even though the court had directed the government to take departmental action against Pollachi SP Pandiyarajan for revealing the identity of the victim, no action was initiated till date, he said, questioning will any of the victims ever come forward to register a similar complaint after this.
Several enterprises which had been employing lakhs of people were either closed or at the verge of closing after the BJP government had implemented Goods and Service Tax (GST) and demonetization and it has created a serious impact in the industrial hub, he said.
“If the new government at centre is formed on behalf of the secular progressive alliance, steps would be taken to re-open all the enterprises and necessary assistance would be provided to them,” he added.
He also said that steps would be taken to put an end to the privatization of water supply in city corporation limit as water is one of the basic commodities of the public and distribution and maintenance of water supply should be with the government body.
Explaining that approval had been obtained to construct eight railway over bridges during his tenure as MP to reduce traffic congestion, he said that steps would be taken to reduce traffic congestion in Coimbatore and to provide night time train service between Coimbatore and Bengaluru.
