Bosch to offer hands-on training to NITC students in electric vehicle manufacture

Robert Bosch India Ltd. signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with National Institute of Technology - Calicut on Friday for collaborative research on electric vehicle associated technologies.

Sivaji Chakravorti, Director, NITC, and Pradeep Kumar, head of engineering-electrification, Bosch India, officially signed the MoU in the presence of NITC Registrar Pankajakshan K. and Bosch officials.

Based on the MoU, Bosch will provide placement, internship projects, hands-on training to students of NITC, whereas NITC will provide EV technologies.

Also, a two-day national workshop on EV technologies, ‘Delve into the future of electric vehicle’, is being organised by the department of electrical engineering, NITC, in association with Robert Bosch, Mathworks India Ltd., IEEE PES Society-NITC student chapter, on March 15 and 16 on NITC campus.

The workshop has technical expert sessions on various areas of electrification of vehicles like design, safety, and control. The sessions are led by experts from IITs/NITs, Robert Bosch, and Mathworks India Ltd.

An exhibition on electric vehicle research projects by NITC and an industrial exhibition by Hykon India Ltd., OPAL-RT Technologies, and Fluke on EV-related products was organised for the public. Around 150 delegates from academic institutions, industry, and research establishments from across the country are participating in the workshop. Working professionals and practising engineers from Kerala Electricals Ltd., KSEB Ltd., CDAC, and L&T are also attending the workshop.
