Woman found dead in forest identified
TNN | Mar 17, 2019, 04:34 ISTSalem: A day after the Kannankuruchi police recovered the decomposed body of a woman from a reserve forest near Chettichavadi here, they identified the victim as P Bakkiyam, 65, of Narasothipatty in Suramangalam area, on Saturday.
Suffering from learning difficulties, she had gone missing from her house on February 22. Her relatives had subsequently lodged a missing person complaint with the Suramangalam police.
After recovering the body, the Kannankuruchi police had alerted all police stations. Following this, Uma Maheswari, daughter-in-law of the deceased, approached the Kannankuruchi police, who took her to the Salem government super specialty hospital for identifying the body. She confirmed the body was that of her mother-in-law. tnn
