Cong wants Priyanka to visit Rani Laxmibai’s birthplace

Varanasi: After becoming general secretary of All India Congress Committee, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra will visit Varanasi for the first time time on March 20.
The excited and enthusiastic workers are leaving no stuone unturned to make it memorable. For this, a series of meetings by Congressmen were conducted on Saturday to review preparations for AICC general secretary (east UP) Priyanka Gandhi Vadra’s scheduled visit Varanasi on March 20.

The meeting was attended by district president Prajanath Sharma, city president Sitaram Keshari, former MP Rajesh Mishra, former MLA Ajay Rai and others.

The meetings were focused on how to make Priyanka’s visit a memorable one. The party members also gave suggestions to Priyanka. One of the suggestions to Priyanka was that she should visit the birthplace of Dalit icon Sant Ravidas at Seer Gowardhanpur and also garland the statue of BR Ambedkar.

Recently, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had also visited Seer Gowardhanpur to attend the birth anniversary celebration of Santh Ravidas on February 19.


The Congressmen also advised her to go to the birthplace of Rani Laxmibai in Assi locality to pay homage.


They also wanted Priyanka to see the demolition for the development of Kashi Vishwanath corridor while going to offer prayer at the temple.


She is also advised to visit some prominent mosque or mazaar to perform jiyarat or duakhwani during her visit.
