2 goods train wagons derail at Dhandari section
RAHUL TAWAR | TNN | Mar 16, 2019, 07:49 ISTLudhiana: Two wagons of a train ferrying goods got derailed on Friday afternoon at the Dhandari Kalan railway station, but no casualties were reported. The train was headed towards the unloading section of the station.
Officials claimed that the accident didn’t disrupt the rail traffic on the route. However, the incident has raised eyebrows towards the lax approach of railway authorities in the management of trains.
The rail traffic division officials said that as soon as the goods train derailed, an alarm was raised by the safety officers and the mechanical department officials reached the spot for quick redressal. The derailment was the result of a technical fault, an official said.
Railway traffic inspector RK Sharma said, “Two wagons of a goods train got derailed when the train was coming towards the unloading section. No casualty was reported in the accident. The work on bringing the engine back on track is in process.”
