Anand team wins Gaekwad memorial T-20 knock out
tnn | Mar 17, 2019, 04:00 ISTVadodara: Team from Anand’s Sharda Cricket Academy won Maharaja Ranjitsinh Gaekwad Memorial Open Gujarat cum T-20 cricket tournament on Saturday.
The final match of the cricket tournament organized by Western Railway Mazdoor Sangh (WRMS) was held at Madhavrao Scindia Cricket Stadium, Pratapnagar.
The tournament, which started on February 11, witnessed the finals being played between Anand’s Sharda Cricket Academy and Baroda’s Darshanam Cricket Academy. The Anand team, which scored 146 runs, emerged winners by defeating Baroda team which scored just one less.
Later, the prize distribution ceremony was held at the stadium in presence of members of the royal family of erstwhile Baroda state, including Shubhangini Raje Gaekwad, Samarjitsinh Gaekwad, Radhika Raje Gaekwad, general manager of Western Railway A K Gupta, chief personnel officer of Western Railway Sanjay Suri, WRMS general secretary and vice-president of National Federation of Indian Railwaymen J G Mahurkar and divisional railway manager of Vadodara railway division Devendra Kumar.
The day also marked the 85th birthday celebrations of Mahurkar, which was celebrated in style at the stadium.
