NEW DELHI: A 55-year-old man was arrested for sexually assaulting a four-year-old child who would visit his house for her tuition classes in west Delhi’s Punjabi Bagh.
The accused, whose daughter gave tuitions to the child, allegedly touched her inappropriately after forcing her to sit on his lap. The child’s parents came to know about the incident after the child was forced to take a shower, and sent back home by the tuition teacher.

According to the police, the incident was reported on Friday night when the child’s parents approached the Punjabi Bagh police station to file a complaint. The minor was taken to a doctor near her house who confirmed sexual assault.

The child’s mother told the police that she had returned home from her tuition classes and complained of uneasiness. When they inquired, the child pointed at her abdomen. After being counselled further, she narrated her ordeal to her mother.

In her statement to the cops, the child said the accused man used to take her to a bathroom after the other children had left the tuition classes, and touched her inappropriately. On Friday, when she started crying, the tuition teacher and her mother allegedly took her to the bathroom and forced her to have a bath. They then wrapped her in a towel and dropped her back home.

When her parents questioned the tuition teacher, she said the child had tripped in the bathroom due to which she had soaked her clothes and hurt herself.

Family members said the child had been undergoing this ordeal for the past 15-20 days. Cops are also questioning the accused’s 20-year-old daughter and his wife regarding the incident.
