Haines to deliver lecture

Sir Andrew P. Haines, epidemiologist and scientist in the U.K., is scheduled to deliver a lecture in Jipmer, Puducherry, on March 18.

Dr. Haines, who is visiting India at the invitation of the Indian Academy of Sciences, will be delivering a lecture on “Climate change and health: The health co-benefits of the low carbon economy”, organised by the Jipmer Scientific Society. Dr. Haines is a Professor of Environmental Change and Public Health in the Department of Public Health and also in the Department of Population Health. He was previously Director of LSHTM, London, for nearly 10 years, having previously been Professor of Primary Health Care at University College of London (UCL) during 1987-2000. His current work is focused on “climate change, sustainability and health”.
