Sonali Bendre has shared a video of her first commercial since getting diagnosed with cancer in July last year.

Taking to Instagram to share the video, Sonali asked her fans to support the campaign which asks mothers to share stories of how they too didn’t always have the right answers to their children’s queries.
“I once saw my grandmother tie a knot on the tail of her saree’s pallu. As a curious child, I asked her why she did it. She said she couldn’t remember everything all the time, so this knot would keep reminding her what she needs to do. I want you to also do this today. Tie a knot and take a pledge to share your #MujheSabNahiPata #IDidntKnow stories. Your story could help another mother be better prepared. I nominate @ruchitarambles and @chandrama_poetry to tie the protection knot and share their stories,” she captioned the video. Sonali is seen in a pink outfit in the video, sporting her short crop of her hair after losing it to chemotherapy when she received cancer treatment in New York last year.
Sonali returned to India a couple of months ago. She was recently seen with husband Goldie Bahl at the wedding reception of industrialist Mukesh Ambani’s son, Akash Ambani and his wife Shloka Mehta.
She recently took to Instagram on World Cancer Day to share a powerful message on battling the life-threatening disease with caution, awareness and positivity. The actor posted a monochrome photo of herself along with a message.
She began her post by saying that the “C” word is such a dreaded word, that it was important to designate a special day for it to help people deal with the disease and spread awareness for the same.
“World Cancer Day… who would have thought it would become such a thing… but it has! And just the mere mention of the C word brings dread in the hearts of anyone who hears it. We fear it so much that we’d rather not talk about it… which is why it’s important to have a day where we pull out the band aid and help us deal with this disease,” she wrote.
She described how she too was scared but realised soon enough that burying her head in the sand won’t help. She continued, “I was scared too, but soon realised that burying my head in the sand was not the way to deal with this. And so… with the little experience I have had, I urge you all to take the time to understand it.”
Sonali, best known for her role in ‘90s movies such as Diljale, Sarfarosh, Duplicate and Hum Saath Saath Hain, is married to filmmaker Goldie Behl. The couple has a 13-year-old son Ranveer.
