First TTD institution to get recognition

The International Organization for Standardization (ISO) has certified the ‘Vishnu Nivasam’, the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams’ (TTD) rest house and pilgrim accommodation complex here.

ISO Director Karthikeyan presented the certificate to TTD Executive Officer Anil Kumar Singhal here on Thursday. Mr. Karthikeyan extolled the TTD for extending quality services to customers and maintaining standards despite a steady inflow of tourists and devotees to the city every day.

The ISO has 20,000 standards and ten non-negotiable indicators. “The institution is the first TTD-run facility to be given the certificate. This should encourage other departments, especially hospitals and educational institutions, to strive for excellence,” said Joint Executive Officer B. Lakshmikantham.

He called upon administrations of the BIRRD orthopaedic hospital, the Central Hospital and the SV Ayurvedic Hospital to strive towards meeting the standards.
