A new poster from Kalank was shared by Karan Johar on Alia Bhatt’s birthday. The actor plays Roop in the period drama.

Days after sharing the teaser of the film, makers of Kalank are now sharing new character posters from the film and the latest one to land is Alia Bhatt’s Roop. Thursday saw character posters of the male protagonists - Varun Dhawan, Aditya Roy Kapur and Sanjay Dutt. The new Kalank poster featuring Alia also coincided with the actor’s birthday.

In the new poster, a closeup of Alia is seen as hope shines in her eyes and the background of the image shows what looks like the setting for a play. The poster has the tagline ‘Love fiercely, live fearlessly’. Sharing the poster, Dharma Productions tweeted, “Love fiercely, live fearlessly. Meet #Roop in cinemas on 17th April. #Kalank @aliaa08 @duttsanjay #AdityaRoyKapur @Varun_dvn @sonakshisinha @MadhuriDixit @abhivarman @karanjohar @apoorvamehta18 #SajidNadiadwala @ipritamofficial @foxstarhindi @NGEMovies” Karan Johar also shared the poster and tweeted, “Courage has never looked this beautiful.”

Talking at the teaser launch of the film, Alia had said, “I have a lot of love for my director and my friend. He has put in a lot of effort and hard work to make it happen. He is the nicest and most amazing human being in the world. He is so nice that I just wish that the film just kills it. He deserves all the success and love in the world.”

Alia and Varun are coming together for the fourth time in Kalank after Student of The Year, Badrinath Ki Dulhaniya and Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhaniya.

A love story set in 1940s India, Kalank was Karan’s father Yash Johar’s dream project. The film was delayed for several years and has now been directed by Abhishek Varman of 2 States fame. Kalank will hit theatres on April 17.
