Cape Town - The Chiefs avoided defeat for the first time this Super Rugby season when they drew 23-23 against the Hurricanes in Hamilton on Friday.
The Chiefs took a 20-13 lead into the break, but the Hurricanes were the stronger side in the second period.
The Chiefs scored two tries through Damian McKenzie and Anton Lienert-Brown, while the 'Canes scored two of their own with Matt Proctor and Wes Goosen crossing the whitewash.
The result means that the Hurricanes stay second in the New Zealand conference while the Chiefs stay bottom.
