Cape Town - Cricket South Africa (CSA) has expressed its condolences to those affected by Friday's massacre at a Christchurch mosque in New Zealand.
"Cricket South Africa (CSA) has heard with horror and shock of the dreadful incident that happened in Christchurch, New Zealand, today,” CSA said via a press statement on Friday.
At least 49 people died in attacks on two mosques during Friday prayers in what appeared to be the worst assault on Muslims in a Western country.
The cricket Test between New Zealand and Bangladesh scheduled to begin in Christchurch on Firday was also called off.
CSA Chief Executive Thabang Moroe added: "We extend our condolences and concerns to all those affected by this tragedy. We are relieved to hear that the players and support staff of both Bangladesh and New Zealand, as well as the ICC match officials are all safe."
