2 men held as cops bust casino, granted bail
TNN | Mar 15, 2019, 07:50 ISTGurgaon: Two men were arrested after a casino was busted on Wednesday night, police said on Thursday. The two youths had installed gambling machines and tables across a room.
The arrested accused have been identified as Tahir and Irfan from Faizabad in UP. They have been living in a slum near Basai chowk in Gurgaon. Following the raid, the police recoved a gambling machine and Rs 9,620 worth of cash from their possession.
According to the police, the two men had converted a room next to a vegetable market in the area into a casino and installed machines and tables. Acting on a tip-off, a team headed by head constable Bhupender conducted the raid in the casino. While other occupants of the room managed to flee, the cops arrested the duo who was allegedly running the casino without any permission.
An FIR was registered at Pataudi police station. The accused were then produced in a city court from where they were granted bail.
“We busted the illegal casino but the accused were released on bail from the court,” said inspector Suresh Kumar, SHO of Pataudi police station.
