Fire at HDMC office in Hubballi

Representative ImageHUBBALLI: Fire broke out at the law section of the HDMC central office here on Friday evening.
Files related to HDMC legal cases were reduced to ashes in the alleged fire accident.
HDMC public relation officer SC Bevur told TOI that the fire was noticed by him when he was about to leave the office. " I noticed that thick smoke was coming out of the legal cell. I immediately raised alram, the security staff and other staff douse the fire. It was doused after an effort of half an hour, " he said.
Some files were gutted including a wall mounted fan gutted in the accident. It looks the switch board might have burst due to heat produced to due to continuous running of the fan, he said.
To recall, few months back a fire incident happened at the engineering section of the HDMC.
The Sub Urban Police visited spot and case in this regard yet to be registered.
