Telangana: Gang members accused of attacking police nabbed

HYDERABAD: Six members of a gang involved in illegal transportation of PDS rice were arrested by Rachakonda police after they allegedly attacked a Special Operation Team (SOT) on March 9 during a raid at Rajapeta.

The accused persons were booked under section of attempt to murder.


The arrested accused were identified as Bhukya Bhasker, Mudavath Suresh, Banoth Nagesh, Reddaboina Prabhakar, Bhimanapally Manohar and Bhimanapally Anjaneyulu.


The remaining four accused in the case are still absconding.


According to the police, the gang had attacked the police team when they raided a farm land in Puttagudem village.


The accused persons first picked up a fight with the police and then attacked them with sticks and stones, injuring three officers. The gang also set a bike on fire to create panic and fled from the spot.
