Actor Sumalatha, expected to contest from Mandya parliamentary seat as an Independent, has expressed displeasure over Chief Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy “politicising” the issue of bringing the former Congress Minister M.H. Ambareesh’s mortal remains to Mandya.
Mr. Kumaraswamy on Thursday said here he was responsible for bringing the body of Ambareesh to Mandya from Bengaluru in spite of disinterest expressed by some persons. He said it was as a friend, and not as a Chief Minister, that he had taken interest in funeral arrangements.
Reacting to this, Ms. Sumalatha said no one should try to take political mileage over a person’s death and funeral.
