As the Patriots search for ways to rebuild their defensive line, they’re starting to meet with free agents.

According to Pro Football Talk, defensive lineman Allen Bailey is visiting with the Patriots today. The 29-year-old has spent all eight NFL seasons in Kansas City. Last year, he set a career-high with six tackles to go with 38 tackles, 10 quarterback hits and two forced fumbles.

At 6-foot-3, 288 pounds, Bailey has the versatility to line up at defensive end and defensive tackle. He’s been a solid interior pass rusher throughout his NFL career. In a way, he’s similar to Trey Flowers, who signed with Detroit this week. If he lands with the Patriots, he would give them another interior pass rusher to go with the likes of Lawrence Guy and Adam Butler.

With Michael Bennett in the fold, the Pats will have added two players that can help replace Flowers, who did it all for the Patriots defensive line, if they sign Bailey.

Drafted in 2011, Bailey has been a starting defensive lineman for the Chiefs since 2014. He has a career 19.5 sacks.
