With 2-0 down in the recently concluded ODI series against India, Australia strongly bounced back to claim the series 3-2 in the decider. In a post-match conference, Aussie head-coach Justin Langer praised Indian captain Virat Kohli and Co for their amazing fighting spirit. Langer said, “I have never seen a player like Kohli. They showed character and great fighting spirit. India had the better of us in Australia and we were able to have the better of them here.”
Langer also credited his boys for showing stunning game of cricket and said that the win would hand a difficult task to the selector’s to choose the squad for the upcoming World Cup.
Langer said, “All the credit to the players. We just make them prepare for the game but they have to go out there and perform in crunch situations. Incredibly proud of the boys.”
“It is going to be tough to pick the World Cup squad. It has been an unbelievable tide since India arrived in Australia,” Langer further added.
Australia would come to World Cup as a defending Champions. Steve Smith and David Warner are also likely to make it in the squad. Both will be making a come-back post-ball-tampering ban. On the other hand, India has almost fixed their squad and are one of the favourites for the upcoming ICC mega event.
