Barcelona hero Lionel Messi scores STUNNING panenka penalty – but here’s how NOT to do it

BARCELONA hero Lionel Messi scored a panenka penalty to get his side going – but another player showed how not to do it.

Barcelona beat Lyon 5-1 to reach the Champions League quarter-finals.

It was their club legend, Messi, who got Barca into the lead after 17 minutes.

The 31-year-old chipped the ball past diving Lyon goalkeeper Anthony Lopes.

This style of penalty was created by Czech legend Antonin Panenka, where his chip won Euro 1976 for his county in a shootout against West Germany.

But Messi was not the only one to attempt this unique style of penalty.

Footage has emerged of Swansea City midfielder Bersant Celina having a do during their Championship clash against West Brom.

In the clip, the Swans are 1-0 down with five minutes of the first half remaining.

But the Welsh side have a chance to equalise with a spot kick.

Celina steps up to the mark – but it does not end well for the Yugoslavian.

As he jogs up to the ball, the midfielder sends goalkeeper Sam Johnstone diving to his right.

But the 22-year-old also kicks the ball away and slips over his foot.

The crowds are in stitches as West Brom clear the ball.

Since being posted on Twitter, this footage has been viewed more than 60,000 times.

And the young Swansea midfielder was slammed for trying to mimic Messi.

“Tried to be Messi, ended up in a mess”

“Tried to be Messi, ended up in a mess,” one viewer said.

Another commented: “The state of that.”

While a third made a huge claim about Celina’s effort.
