LUCKNOW: Union home minister Rajnath Singh will contest the Lok Sabha election from Lucknow.

“There is no question of me changing my constituency. I love Lucknow and the city loves me,” the MP from Lucknow told TOI. He had visited the city last week and unveiled projects worth over Rs 1.25 lakh crore.

BJP high command is learnt to be actively considering denying tickets to a number of MPs this time to field new faces to address anti-incumbency against the party.

On Wednesday, BJP’s MP from Unnao Sakshi Maharaj threatened that the party will suffer if he is not offered a ticket from Unnao this time.

Sakshi Maharaj opened another front against the party on Wednesday when he blamed UP BJP chief Mahendra Nath Pandey for releasing his controversial letter he wrote against the party on Tuesday.

Rajnath had contested from Lucknow in the 2014 Lok Sabha polls defeating the second position Congress candidate by 50% votes.
