Darina Allen of Ballymaloe Cooking School, Noel McMeel from Lough Erne Resort and celebrity chef Clodagh McKenna delivered an Irish culinary masterclass to guests – who included influential epicurean and lifestyle journalists, as well as key travel trade contacts – at the ‘Cooking By The Book’ event in Tribeca.
Alison Metcalfe, Tourism Ireland’s Head of North America and Australia, said “We were delighted to be joined by three such eminent ambassadors for Irish food – showcasing all that is great about our food scene and helping to spread the word in New York about the wonderful culinary experience our American visitors can expect on a vacation in Ireland. From Michelin Star restaurants, to gastro pubs and farmers markets, the island of Ireland truly offers a culinary experience to rival the best!
“In 2018, we welcomed a record 2 million North American visitors to the island of Ireland. This year, we’re looking forward to further growth and our wonderful culinary offering is certainly now one of a long list of reasons for American travellers to choose Ireland for a vacation.”
