NEW DELHI: Light to moderate rain occurred on Thursday morning in parts of Delhi and National Capital Region (NCR), including Noida and Gurugram.
The rain was witnessed in Delhi's Kalkaji extension, Tuglakabad extension and Vasant Kunj areas. Moderate rainfall also lashed the western parts of Noida and eastern parts of Delhi, including Mayur Vihar and IP Extension.
"The region is under the influence of a western disturbance and characterised by high surface wind speed that is helping in dispersion of pollutants. The air quality can be in the moderate to higher end of satisfactory range for next three days," said forecasts by SAFAR - a body under the ministry of earth sciences.
Delhi recorded a minimum temperature of 11.8 degrees Celsius, four notches below the season's average, the weather office said.
"The morning was partly cloudy. There may be light rain towards the evening accompanied by strong winds," an India Meteorological Department (IMD) official.
The humidity at 8.30 am was 87 per cent.
The maximum temperature was likely to hover around 25 degrees Celsius and the minimum at 12 degrees.
Wednesday's maximum temperature settled at 25.0 degrees Celsius, four notches below the season's average while the minimum was 15.0 degrees Celsius, normal for this time of the year.
