A week after 34 infants were admitted to Niloufer Hospital after wrong medication was administered to them at the Urban Primary Health Centre in Nampally, only one still continues to be under observation.

Paracetamol is usually given to address fever, which may develop after immunisation. However, parents of infants immunised at the Nampally centre on March 6 said painkiller Tramadol was handed to them instead. Two infants died and 34 were admitted to Niloufer. Till Tuesday, 32 were discharged while another was discharged on Wednesday.

“Now, only one infiant is under observation,” said Niloufer Hospital superintendent Dr. V. Murali Krishna.
