Man dies after being stung by bees in Tamil Nadu

KRISHNAGIRI: A 75-year-old man died after being stung by a swarm of bees near Thally in Krishnagiri district of Tamil Nadu on Wednesday evening.
The deceased has been identified as P Rajappa of Osapuram.
The bees were disturbed by some workers who plucked tamarind from roadside trees. A huge beehive was hanging on the branches of one of the trees. The workers did not notice it. The disturbed bees attacked the workers and passersby, including Rajappa.
Some of them escaped by jumping into a nearby water body. But Rajappa could not escape. Villagers gave him first-aid and rushed him to Government Hospital in Thally where doctors examined him and declared dead.
The Thally police registered a case.
