The first trailer of Shweta Tripathi’s latest film Gone Kesh landed online Thursday afternoon and it has all the elements of an entertainer. Despite a sensitive issue at its core, the film manages to take a light-hearted view of things. Shweta plays a teenager who loves dancing and suffers from a disease that causes rapid hairfall.

According to the makers, Gone Kesh is about a 16-year-old middle class girl who is diagnosed with Alopecia - a condition where one’s hair starts falling - and how she deals with the disease affecting her ambitions of becoming a dancer. The film is directed by Qasim Khallow.

Earlier, talking about her choices, Shweta told Hindustan Times, “As an actor I am very greedy and so I don’t want to limit myself in certain kind of thing. Art and cinema is not restricted to any language. I did Tamil film, Mehandi Circus. I want to do Bangla cinema and other regional and foreign languages. Like a businessperson, I want to expand my horizon — starting from a village to all parts of the world.”

Shweta was recently seen in the web series Mirzapur and has Cargo in the pipeline. She is likely to play an astronaut in Cargo that is being produced by Anurag Kashyap and features Vikrant Massey. “It’s great to work with people you trust and who trust you. Anurag Kashyap has been a mentor to so many of us. Him and Vikram supporting our endeavours means so much to us. Sci-fi is a genre we have hardly explored and I am so excited to be a part of Cargo,” she had said.
