NAVI MUMBAI: The Navi Mumbai Crime Branch central unit arrested two proprietors of a Sanpada-based medicine distributor agency and an accomplice for illegally selling government subsidized pharmaceutical drugs that were meant to be provided free of cost to patients at hospitals run by various government agencies such as the defence, ESIC and civic hospitals across the country.Senior inspector Ajay Landge of Taloja police station said, “In February, the FDA had registered an FIR after confiscating huge quantity of government subsidized medicines following a raid at a warehouse in Taloja MIDC. The medicines were being sent to Sanpada based distributor agency from the Taloja warehouse.”
Crime Branch Senior inspector Nivrutti Kolhatkar said, “The FDA team raided Taloja Warehouse and Samarth Distributor agency located in sector 5, Sanpada and seized Rs 14.62 lakhs worth anti-diabetic medicine namely 'Galvus 50mg' manufactured by Novartis. The proprietor duo, Mahesh Nagansure and Sachin Wadaskar and their aide Sachin Baldava were booked.”
