71-yr-old woman dies of swine flu 10 fresh cases registered in city

Surat: A 71-year-old-woman from Bardoli died of swine flu at a private hospital in the city on Wednesday, taking the toll in this season in Surat rural to four.

Surat rural has 40 H1N1 positive cases since January 1. Ten fresh cases of swine flu positive patients were reported on Wednesday from Surat city taking the total number of positive cases to 249. The city has seen two deaths till now since January 1.


The 10 new cases reported from different city hospitals include a one-year-old boy from Dindoli and a 2.5-year-old girl from Nanavat areas of the city. The other cases include four males and four female patients. Nine patients were discharged from various city hospitals after improvement in their conditions, while 58 are still under treatment. Condition of 33 are reported to be stable, 14 on ventilator and 11 on oxygen support.
