Indore: The day temperature is gradually increasing each day in the city. Meteorological department says its onset of summer. According to department officials, the chances of drop in temperature are less. The temperature would decrease only due to local factors. They said western disturbance, which caused sudden change in weather has moved to east.
On Tuesday, city recorded maximum temperature of 32 degrees Celsius which was two degrees below normal while minimum temperature at 16.6 degrees Celsius was one degree above normal. Residents too felt the heat as weather remained hot and dry in last two days.
Water woes begin
With increase in temperature, residents are facing water shortage in different areas. They have to wait for water tankers to meet their demands. Indore Municipal Corporation water works committee incharge Balram Verma said he has not received major complaint about water scarcity. “But in view of increasing heat, we will increase number of water tankers to meet the needs of the city,” he said. Meanwhile, most water bodies in city are showing signs of drying up with the each passing day. Water level in many lakes has receded while some of them even dried up, thanks to negligence of residents and civic bodies.
