According to an army spokesperson, the violations were carried out in Krishna Ghati Sector and Chakkan Da Bagh.
“Pakistan army violated ceasefire in Gulpur, Krishna Ghati Sector and Chakkan-Da-Bagh in Poonch on Wednesday from 10.30am to 12.30pm. They resorted to unprovoked shelling with mortars and firing of small arms along the LoC in the Krishna Ghati Sector,” said Lt Col Devender Anand, defence spokesman (Jammu). He said Pakistani troops again violated ceasefire 1pm onwards in Chakkan-Da-Bagh.
Police said five mortar shells hit the cross LoC Trade Facilitation Centre at Chakkan-Da-Bagh. Of the five shells, two exploded near the centre, damaging a building housing the X-ray scanner, while three exploded around the premises, police said.
“No injury was reported as shells landed when the process of scanning of the trucks was almost complete,” said Rahul Yadav, deputy commissioner (Poonch).
The latest ceasefire violation comes after a two-day lull in the cross-border skirmishes. Last ceasefire violation was reported on March 10, 4.30am onwards along the LoC in Krishna Ghati Sector in Poonch.
