Alleging that Prime Minister Narendra Modi was shielding YSR Congress president YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, the
Telugu Desam Party on Tuesday divulged the letter of the
Enforcement Directorate citing evidences on alleged irregularities of Jagan and seeking CBI’s further probe.
The documents disclosed by TDP include an alleged letter by the ED director Karnal Singh to the then CBI director Alok Kumar Verma on March 31, 2017 where ED elaborated on evidences to prove quid pro quo allegations against Jagan in amassing huge wealth.
The ED director had in his letter said the then Andhra Pradesh government granted undue benefits to the
Hinduja group in lieu of bribe amounts paid to Jagan. The Hinduja group was permitted to convert 100 acres of prime land in Hyderabad from industrial to non-industrial use, apart from permitting to revive 1,040-MW power project of Hinduja
National Power, the ED director said, adding that Hindujas had allotted 11.1 acres of land worth Rs 178 crore to a front company of Jagan in lieu of benefits.
The disclosure of ED letter by TDP comes on the day YSR Congress said the alleged nexus between TDP supremo N Chandrababu Naidu and the former CBI joint director VV Lakshminarayana were exposed with the media reports of the latter joining TDP to contest from Bhimili constituency in Visakhapatnam district of AP.
