Rajasthan chief electoral officer Anand Kumar has issued notices to BJP MP from Jaipur Ramcharan Bohra and Pradesh Congress Committee general secretary Sunil Sharma for using pictures of defence personnel in their election campaign material. The notice stated that the two leaders violated a recent order of the Election Commission against the use of such images. A poster allegedly put up by Mr. Bohra had the photographs of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and a soldier in his combat uniform with the sentence: “Jai Hind Ki Sena: Aatankvadiyon ko Pakistan mein ghus kar mara” (Hail Indian Army: It entered Pakistan and killed the terrorists). The notices, sent by the Jaipur District Electoral Office, has sought a response from them in three days along with the details of expenditure on the campaign material and the printer’s name. “You should desist from indulging in such activities in future,” the notices said.
