15 years after her first book’s release, author Cecilia Ahern announces a sequel to the international bestseller

Bestselling author Cecelia Ahern has announced on Twitter that she’s written a sequel to everyone’s favourite tear-jerker, P.S. I Love You. Ahern posted the words, “I have BIG NEWS! I’ve written the sequel to PS I LOVE YOU – titled POSTSCRIPT. POSTSCRIPT will be published September 19th in the UK & Ireland. I hope you’ll welcome back Holly… & Gerry…& that reading it will be as emotional for you as it was for me.”
Published back in 2014, the romance novel follows the story of Holly and her husband Gerry, who are tragically torn apart when Gerry dies from a brain tumour. Holly is, naturally, stricken with grief, only to discover Gerry has left behind 10 letters, each one being signed off with the phrase, ‘P.S. I love you’. Since the success of the book, Ahern has gone on to write 15 other novels and sold millions of copies worldwide.
In 2007, it came to life as a feature film starring Gerard Butler and Hilary Swank. Take it from us—if you haven’t already seen the film, consider it mandatory viewing this weekend (just don’t forget the tissues, and probably some popcorn).
But of course, the million dollar question is what will Postscript be about? Will it follow Holly as she navigates a new relationship after losing her husband? Will we hear Gerry’s side of the story as he’s writing the letters? Will we hear more from Gerry after his death? We have so many questions!
As Ahern addressed in the tweet, it seems to book will be available in the UK and Ireland from September, but you can count on us to fill you in on any updates until then.
