Inquiry by CEO reveals that all students had written their exams

Amid allegations that a private CBSE school in Hosur had barred a few students from taking their exams over non-payment of tuition fees, an inquiry by the Chief Education Officer revealed that all students had written their exams.

The students were merely held back after their exams, and their parents were summoned to the school to seek out the reasons for the non-payment of fees.

Attendance checked

A report was sought from the school along with the students’ examination attendance register by the Chief Education Officer on Wednesday.

CEO K.Maheshwari told The Hindu that it was a CBSE school and a school just would not disallow any student from appearing for the examination. “They had however asked the students to stay back in the school till their parents came in order to ask the reasons for the non-payment of tuition fees. I have however advised the school to ensure if the parents have the means to pay the fees at the time of admission and not to subject both the parents and the schools to this sort of action,” Ms.Maheshwari said.
