Mumbai: Two teenage brothers stabbed two of their friends on Monday night in Kurla’s Nehru Nagar area over a misunderstanding. The police suspect that the group got into an argument while playing a mobile game, PUBG, which got out of hand. While the police have arrested the teenage duo, the two injured friends are recuperating in Sion Hospital.
As per police sources, the group, aged 16-19 years, residents of Kurla and Chunabhatti, used to play the game PUBG on a daily basis. It is suspected that a few days ago they had had a heated argument during the game, leading to the 19-year-old victim verbally abusing one of the accused.
To sort out matters, the four friends decided to meet on Monday night near Shivaji Maidan in Nehru Nagar. The accused brothers, however, had another plan and were carrying a sharp knife with them. When the four met, one of the accused held the 19-year-old victim’s hands while the other stabbed him in the stomach, chest and neck.
When the victim’s 16-year-old friend tried to rescue him, he too was attacked and has sustained injuries on his chest and stomach. A police van responded to the ruckus and rushed in to help. The accused siblings, aged 16 and 17 years, were immediately apprehended and the injured rushed to a private hospital.
