(SOUNDBITE) (English) EVENT WINNER JAEGER STONE SAYING: "It is absolutely crazy.

That is without a doubt the windiest, and gnarliest conditions I have ever windsurfed in.

It is heavy metal." 5.

PODIUM CELEBRATIONS STORY: Braving the toughest conditions he had ever surfed in, Australia's Jaeger Stone won the latest round of the Red Bull Storm Chase competition in Donegal, Ireland, on Tuesday (March 12).

Harnessing the power of a massive North Atlantic storm (Storm Gareth) that saw winds reach more than 130kph and waves towering at 10m tall, Jaeger beat seven of the world's best windsurfers to lift the coveted prize.

It has been three years since the event last took place in Ireland, and it saw competitors come from all over the world.

Windsurfers braved the elements to produce some spectacular rides, often being lifted high in the air before being dumped back into the swell.
