BRS Nagar man booked for rape
TNN | Mar 13, 2019, 07:25 ISTLudhiana: The police on Monday booked a BRS Nagar resident for raping a 22-year-old woman on the pretext of marriage.
The survivor said in her police complaint, “I met Tayar Khan Malik, 25, about a year ago. As our friendship grew, he promised to marry me and established physical relations with me. Days ago, when I asked Tayar to marry me, he reused. When he got engaged to a Delhi woman, I confronted him. He threatened me with dire consequences if I spoke about the incident.”
Assistant sub-inspector Amarjit Singh said a case has been registered under sections 376 (rape) and 506 (criminal intimidation) of the IPC.
