PUBG banned in Vadodara, Anand
TNN | Mar 14, 2019, 04:07 ISTVadodara: City police commissioner Anupam Singh Gahlaut on Wednesday issued a notification banning PUBG and Momo in public places.
“PUBG is a very violent game and affecting the mindset of youngsters. They become very aggressive after playing these game. So we decided to ban it,” Gahlaut told TOI.
Police have asked citizens to contact them on spotting anyone playing the game. PUBG is an online game where the player requires internet connection. It is a multi-player game set on a virtual battlefield where the player has to shoot each other down.
“Many parents, whose children are addicted to PUBG, have approached us in last few days. We have counselled the kids and asked the parents to keep an eye on their children. It is important to take preventive steps so that such games don’t have adverse effect on young minds,” Gahlaut added.
The police said that if it finds any adult playing PUBG or Momo Challenge, it will book them for flouting police notification. And if children are found playing these games, they will be counselled. These games were first banned in Rajkot and then police in other districts started swinging into action.
Meanwhile Anand administration has also issued orders prohibiting the PUBG and Momo. The notification issued by Anand district collector Dilip Rana states that the games incite violence among the players who are primarily youth and school going children.
