BHOPAL: A girl has lodged a rape complaint against an acquaintance. Investigation officer Hanumanganj police station sub inspector Chanchal Tiwari said victim is a college student. Police said that she alleged that 32-year-old accused live in her neighborhood and she used to call him uncle since her childhood. According to police the girl alleged that on May 3, 2018 she was waiting at bus stop to catch a public transport bus to reach her college. The accused, while passing by the area on a bike, came to her and offered her a lift.
She alleged that as he was known to her, she went with him, but, instead the accused took her to a friend’s home and raped her. She alleged that the accused kept on outraging her modesty several times by threatening her of life. She remained tight-lipped about her ordeal until Monday when she mustered courage and narrated it to her mother. Subsequently, she approached Habibagnj police station where based on her complaint, accused was booked on charges of rape and has been detained by the police.
