Man fighting for life after being found injured in Perth's western suburbs
A man is in a critical condition in a Perth hospital after he was found with serious injuries in Perth's western suburbs on Tuesday.
A woman known to him is in custody over the incident. There is no confirmation of any charges yet.
The man in his 50s was found at a house on Mount Street, Claremont on Tuesday afternoon.
The man's injuries are so serious he is in the intensive care unit of Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital.
In a brief statement police said officers were called to the home about 4pm where they found the injured man.
"A woman, who is known to the injured man, is currently assisting with the investigation," police said.
Perth Detectives have carriage of the investigation at this stage.
A St John Ambulance spokesman confirmed paramedics also attended the scene.
"We transported a patient with traumatic injuries to hospital," he said.
Late on Wednesday a SCGH spokesman confirmed the man was in the hosptial's ICU unit and was in a critical condition.
