HYDERABAD: TRS working president KT Rama Rao launched a broadside against Prime Minister Narendra Modi, saying that he had ignored repeated pleas of Telangana for allocating sufficient funds and taking up projects.
“All he did was accept the bouquets we gave and went away with a smile,” KTR said at a party meeting at Telangana Bhavan on Tuesday. He was speaking during the joining of workers from Congress, BJP and TDP from Alair constituency into TRS.
He said though the state government had asked the Centre for ?24,000 crore for various irrigation projects, the latter did not oblige. “That is why the TRS needs to win 16 LS seats. With the TRS members, there will be 100 other MPs who will play a crucial role in formation of the government,” he said. KTR said TRS would go to LS polls with the slogan, ‘saru, caru, padaharu, Delhi lo sarkaru” (Sir (KCR), car (party’s election symbol), 16 seats and forming government in Delhi).
