Coastal students excel in MBA, MCA exams of VTU

Students of Alva’s Institute of Engineering and Management and Shree Devi Institute of Technology bagged the second and third ranks, respectively, in the fourth semester of Master of Business Administration (MBA) examination conducted by Visvesvaraya Technological University during 2017-18.

A release from Alva’s, Moodbidri, here said Rinu Thomas, daughter of Shaji Thomas, supervisor at Rajendra Coffee Pvt. Ltd., Chikkamagaluru, and Ramani Thomas, office assistant at the same estate, bagged the second rank among 6,021 students appearing for the exams from 150 colleges across the State.

Ms. Rinu Thomas is working as Assurance Associate at Ernst & Young, Bengaluru.

Alva’s Education Foundation Chairman M. Mohan Alva, Trustee Vivek Alva and college principal Peter Fernandes congratulated Ms. Thomas.

A release from Shree Devi Institute, Kenjar, Mangaluru, said that T.J. Sandhya from the institute secured the third rank in the MBA exams of VTU conducted during 2017-18.

Another student, Anusha, from the same institute secured the third rank in Master of Computer Applications exams conducted by VTU during the same year, the release added.

The management, director, principal and staff of the college congratulated the students.

Meanwhile, K. Prarthana from St. Joseph Engineering College, Mangaluru, secured the sixth rank in the MCA exams conducted by VTU. College management and faculty congratulated the student for her achievement.

BE ranks

Students from Mangalore Institute of Technology and Engineering secured ranks in Bachelor of Engineering exams conducted by VTU for the academic year 2017-18. While Anna Rose Johny secured the second rank in BE (mechanical engineering), M. Priyanka got the second rank in aeronautical engineering, Sarthak Vasanth obtained the eighth rank in mechatronics engineering and Dinakar secured the 10th rank in aeronautical engineering, a release said.

MITE Chairman Rajesh Chouta congratulated the students and said, “I am proud of our students who have put in hard work to reach the zenith of their academic achievement. Accomplishments like these will inspire others to succeed in their endeavours.”
