BSP politician who took on PM Narendra Modi now in BJP
TNN | Mar 13, 2019, 06:40 ISTNEW DELHI: In yet another defection from BSP, Vijay Prakash Jaiswal, who contested on the party’s ticket against PM Narendra Modi in Varanasi in 2014 polls, joined BJP on Tuesday.
Jaiswal had faced a humiliating defeat in 2014 polls, mustering a little over 5% of the total votes. He joined the saffron camp in the presence of UP BJP chief Mahendra Nath Pandey. “I was inspired by the policies and perspective of Prime Minister Modi. I have no qualms against BSP as such,” Jaiswal told TOI.
