Vadodara: Seven persons from city were arrested on Tuesday evening for running a duplicate engine oil manufacturing racket at Manjusar GIDC in Savli taluka. The local crime branch (LCB) of Vadodara rural police received information that Hitesh Parikh, who lives in Manjalpur, is manufacturing duplicate engine oil at an industrial shed at Kanha Industrial Estate in the GIDC premises. Based on the information,

LCB sleuths raided the shed and found six persons besides Parikh working there. The other accused have been identified as Vishal Tailor, a Karelibaug resident, Mushtaq Sheikh and Anees Miya Sheikh, both residents of Yakutpura, Vijay Thakor, a resident of Patthargate, Rahul Rana from Nagarwada, and Paresh Parmar of Sokhda.


Police said that Parikh purchased machinery and other equipment needed to pack the engine oil under the brand name Mak Lubricants. Mak Lubricants is a product from Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited. Cops seized the duplicate stock and all other valuables and arrested the seven accused.
