No rallies will be allowed sans permission: DC
TNN | Mar 13, 2019, 07:40 ISTLudhiana: If any political party or candidate wants to organise a rally, meeting or conference in their premises, prior permission from the district administration is required, said Ludhiana deputy commissioner Pradeep Kumar Agrawal on Tuesday.
Agrawal was speaking during a meeting with the representatives of marriage palaces, hotels, political parties etc at the Bachat Bhawan.
The deputy commissioner said venue owners cannot allow any such function if the organiser (political party or candidate) does not have a permission validated by the DC office. Those found flouting the norms would be dealt with strictness, he said.
He also asked the venue owners to share with the district administration the expenditure incurred by the party/candidate in organising such events through email (printing2019ldh@gmail.com). He also stated that no person would be allowed to ferry liquor without a valid bill permit within the district.
During the meeting, Agrawal briefed the party representatives on obtaining prior permission from the district administration for holding any election-related functions. He said all permissions would be granted within a period of 24 hours in a hassle-free manner and the permission letters can be taken from the office of district election officer, Ludhiana or the office of concerned SDM/ARO as well as from the SUVIDHA application.
There would also be a complete ban on loudspeakers between 10pm to 6am. Agrawal also clarified that they would start recording the expenditure of a particular person only after he/she files his/her nomination. Before that, all the expenditure would be booked against the political party.
